They were settling down for the night, Xander had asked Katsa the Dragon rider to conjure an image of Princess Randa's soul. She used her crystal sword, to form a protective orb around the soul of Randa's soul, the colours in the globe seemed to be darker; Xander thought the dark one must be working his magic on her body. He had joined with Katsa about two weeks before, as her Dragon was still too young to ride she was travelling overland. They joined forces Katsa had three travelling companions, an Eagle, Jaguar and her Dragon which she seemed to communicate telepathically. She said that the dark one had murdered her brother and trapped his soul in the body of the Jaguar. She said that it had amused the dark one to put his soul in to an animal that was not from the lost kingdom. When Katsa found him he was almost dead he could not hunt his camouflage did not work here in the great divide.
